Transportation is very important in the modern world, especially
in big cities. Describe:
the advantages and disadvantages• of modern means of transportation;
• what new means of transportation you would suggest for a big city.
1)Modern means of transportation are
varied, fast and comfortable. 2)Depending
on the distance you need to cover as well
as your budget and preferences, you may
get anywhere by air, water, railway or road
using planes, boats, trains or cars.
3)Air travelling offers the advantage of
speed, however, it is also the most expensive
means of transportation. 4)Trains are
also rather fast and more affordable than
planes. 5)Travelling by boat is joyful, but
limited by the water area. 6)Cars serve
in the most convenient and private way,
nevertheless there are problems of traffic
jams and petrol prices.
7)However, there is one major disadvantage
of all modern means of transport —
they are harmful not only to a person who
uses them but also to the environment and
all the human beings.
8)Speaking about a big city, there
should be means of transport which are
plenty in number to carry crowds of people
especially in rush hours and varied in price.
9)A metro line is a must for a megalopolis,
as well as a sufficient number of trams,
buses and trolleybuses.

номанітними, швидкими й зручними.
2)Залежно від відстані, яку вам треба
подолати, а також вашого бюджету
й особистих уподобань ви можете діс-
татися будь-куди повітряним, водним,
залізничним або автомобільним тран-
спортом за допомогою літака, човна,
поїзда або автомобіля.
3)Повітряний транспорт найшвид-
ший, проте це також найдорожчий
транспортний засіб. 4)Потяг також до-
сить швидкий засіб пересування, проте
доступніший — порівняно з літаками.
5)Подорожувати на кораблі приємно,
але ви обмежені акваторією. 6)Автомо-
біль є найзручнішим, до того ж особис-
тим транспортом, проте існує проблема
пробок і цін на бензин.
7)До того ж, головний недолік всіх
сучасних транспортних засобів — це
те, що вони шкідливі не тільки для
людини, яка ними користується, але
й для навколишнього середовища та
всіх інших людей.
8)Щодо пересування у великому
місті, то там повинні бути численні
транспортні засоби, кількість яких до-
зволятиме перевозити всіх бажаючих,
особливо в години пік, ціни ж на тран-
спорт повинні варіюватися. 9)Наяв-
ність метро обов’язкова для мегаполісу,
там також повинна бути достатня кіль-
кість трамваїв, автобусів і тролейбусів.
