Description of the Project:

This is a film initiative of young people creating in the Warmia and Mazury region their own informal Film Studio named Móvie Mrągowo, founded with Foundation of Alternative Education “ALE” acting on the personal and professional development of youth. For their new film they invited the initiators of similar grassroots youth movement from young Ukrainian organization in Kharkov. The result of the 8-day meeting of the 24-person group will be the film ”Up to the end.” The scenario is based on the story, which can become close to young people living both in Poland and Ukraine, including such, the roots of which are associated with both cultures. Hence the film ”carries the names of all of us” by touching the basic human desires and longings for family relations, for defining their own identity, with the knowledge of the truth about ourselves and the space to live in the place and the time at which we came to the world. Film dialogue of Poles and Ukrainians may be a dialogue of all other nations who come together to deal with the search for their own safety patch of land. The project, lasting from September to November 2016, is aimed to raise the level of preparedness, knowledge and competences of the project participants for the implementation of local and international socio-artistic initiatives building a broader social dialogue of young people from different cultures and different backgrounds. During the eight days Polish creators and Ukrainian co-creators of the scenario will go through the basic stages of production and post-production, from working on the scenario to editing the movie, including the local community empowerment. The final product of the project – 15-minute-long film etude – will be disseminated and made available in Poland and Ukraine for anyone interested in the value of non-formal education in areas such as art film, social and artistic animation, work with young people with fewer opportunities and intercultural dialogue.
