So Lomov B.F. (1984) offers three levels of analysis of intercourse (macrolevel, meso- and microlevel). The basis of the intercourse structure is a basic understanding of the structure of the object: the procedure of stable relations between elements of the research object, which ensure its integrity as a phenomenon in the external and internal changes.

1.Macrolevel: individual intercourse with others is an important aspect of his life style. At this level, the intercourse process is studied in the time intervals that correlate with the duration of human life. Emphasis on the analysis of mental development of the individual. Intercourse acts as the complex network of developmental relationships of the individual with other people and social groups.

2. Mezolevel (average): intercourse considered as a variable set of targeted logically complete contacts or situations - the interaction in which people are caught in daily life in specific time segments of his life. The emphasis in the study of intercourse at this level is done on content component of the intercourse situation: "about what?" and "for what purpose?" Around this core of object intercourse reveals the dynamics of intercourse, analyzes the used means (verbal - nonverbal) and stages of intercourse, during which the exchange of views, ideas and experiences occurs.

3. Microlevel: the emphasis is on the analysis of elementary units of intercourse as related acts or transactions. At this stage the elementary unit of communication is not a change of behavioral acts and its participants, but their interaction. Interaction includes not only the action of one of the partners, but also the related help or opposition to another (such as "question-answer", "call to action -action", "communication of information – attitude to it" etc.

There are other functions of intercourse (Partyko T.B.):

Human knowledge of human;

Formation and development of interpersonal relationships.

In the nature of purpose the functions of intercourse are distinguished.

Functions of intercourse (by the criterion of "aim of intercourse)

Contact: set contact as a state of readiness to receive and transmit messages and maintaining relationships through constant mutual orientation.

Informational: messaging, in other words reception and transmission of information in response to a query, and exchange of ideas, plans, decisions.

Stimulus: stimulation activity of the communication partner directing him to perform certain actions.

Coordination: mutual orientation and coherence actions in the organization of joint activities.

Understanding: adequate perception and understanding of the meaning of a message, and an understanding of each other partners (intentions, attitudes, feelings, states).

Emotive: stimulation of needed emotional feeling in a partner (sharing emotions) and changing own experience and states with its help.

Establishing relationships: perception and setting own place in the role, status, business and interpersonal relations of society, where the individual acts.

Influence: change of state, intentions, decisions, needs, actions of a partner.

There are different methods of intercourse:

Dialogue;

Questions - answers;

Rhetorical question - or affirmation or denial of partner view;

emotionality - increased emphasis that encourages communication;

5. inversion - understanding words disorder to capture interlocutor’s attention.
