About myself and SSLA.

My name is Olga Ilgova, I was born in Saratov, and all my life lived in this city, except 4 years, When I lived in Moscow. My mother is the lower, father is the solder. I was the only child in family until February 22, 2012. in this day my brother was born. In 2009 I graduated from music school. In 2011 I graduated school and entered to the SSLA.

Saratov State Low Academy was founded in 1917. in this year the low faculty was founded in Saratov State University. In 1931 the Low Institute was founded on the bases of this faculty. At the beginning of 30^th years the institute was small. 140 students stated there. At the end of 30^th years hundreds of students stated in the institute. Today SSLA is one of the biggest scientific and educational institutions of the country. Many scholars work in the academy. Their work is well known in our country and abroad. The academe has the day-time, the evening-time and correspondence departments. The students study a number of special subjects: civil low, criminal low, history of state and low and other. As for me, it is very interesting to study in the SSLA.

The important British national values are: tolerance, decency moderation consensus. British society is deeply individualistic in such aspects as liberty and localism. The British has a strong civil sense and participate in public affairs. Many British people are involved in some kind of voluntary activity. There are many charities, including sports clubs, trade unions and protest groups. On Saturdays lot of people go and watch the sports events, other stay at home and watch the sports programs at home. Some people prefer to spend Saturday afternoon with families. In London they have an opportunity to go to one of the royal parks. Saturday evening is the best time for parties, dances, going to the cinema and theatre. Grate Britain is one of the world’s major theatre centers. English is the official language of UK. It developed from one of the Anglo-Saxon dialects of the fifth end sixth centuries. Later Latin end French influents English greatly.

Americans are very friendly, courteous, and helpful to visitors. Today there are many charitable organizations which help travelers. The old tradition of hospitality to stranger is still very strong in the USA. Nowadays the great blockbusters of film are in every city and town. Hollywood continuous to attract and produce. If you don’t want to see a play or a movie, you can always go to listen to music. You will hear jazz, blues, rock. The USA is a real «nation of immigrants». There are two reasons for it. Firstly, generations of immigrants settled, built and developed the country. Secondly, even today America continuous to fake in more immigrants than any other country in the world. That is why the USA is one of the few countries that has no «official» national language or languages. English is the common language by use, but it is not the national language by law.

British National Holidays.

A «bank holiday» is a public holiday in the UK. «Bank holidays» are so called because they are days on which banks are shut and no other businesses operate. British «bank holidays» are New Year’s day, Easter Monday, Good Friday, Christmas Day, May Day and others. Spring Bank Holiday is celebrated on the last Monday in May. It is an official holiday, when all offices are closed and people do not go to work. Many people go to the country on this day and have picnics.Summer bank holiday is another official public holiday, and it is celebrated on the last Monday in August. During the August bank holiday townsfolk usually go to the country and to the seacoast. If the weather is fine, many families take a picnic lunch or tea with them. The British associate Christmas with good food and drink, with TV shows and the Queen’s speech. People send out cards and decorate houses.
