Every country thinks that their cuisine is the best in the world

Every nation living on Earth has its own history, traditions and, of course, features of the national cuisine. A cuisine is a certain set of cooking traditions passed on from generation to generation. A cuisine is often named after the place where it originated. The choice of ingredients depends on the region or country. For example, the Greeks use lots of fruit and vegetables like tomatoes, olives, lemons and seafood in their dishes because these products are easily found in their country. Today, if you want to taste the food of different countries, it’s not necessary to fly there. The restaurants of various cuisines can be found almost in every city. I live in Astana and there are lots of Chinese, Japanese, French, Greek, Italian, Spanish and even Mexican restaurants here. Chinese dishes are mostly made of fish, rice and noodles. The thing that I like about this cuisine is the variety of green and herbal teas. Japanese cuisine is based on fresh seafood, soybeans and white rice. I have already tried several types of rolls and sushi with soy sauce and it was rather delicious. My favourite dish is the Kazakh national food besbarmak. Name of this dish is translated from Kazakh as “five fingers” because of a manner to eat the dish by hand. Besbarmak's main ingredients are: meat (lamb or horse meat), pasta (it is cut into small squares), as well as herbs (dill, parsley, cilantro, etc.). I also like Italian food. Nowadays most of young people like to get takeaway food. It is easy and quick.

Which do you think has more advantages, being an only child or having brothers and sisters?

In the twenty-first century many couples decided to have one child. Some children feel good without a siblings other wish they had a brother or sister. What are advantages and disadvantages of being an only child?

The main advantage is that parents are much focused about raising one child. It is at the centre of attention and it generates a strong relationship with parents. This close family has three family members. Moreover parents do not have to spend money on another child and you are getting larger share of family income. Besides only child does not have to share a room or computer or other things. You can do whatever and anytime you want and no one disturbs you.
Nevertheless, being an only child has the disadvantages. The main is that child usually spend much time alone. Their childhoods are not happy. Their characters become selfish and unsociable; it might have a problem with socializing with society and people in neighborhood. The family is extended. Another disadvantage is that only children are under parents pressure. They do not have freedom of choice or own plans about future. As a result they become dependent on parents. Being adults they cannot do anything without parents. They cannot choose anything.

In conclusion, being an only child has as same drawbacks and advantages. I think the main role play parents. It depends on them how they will grow up their only child or children. But some children feel well without siblings but others dream about a brother or a sister.

A person who you know well

I'm going to talk about my mother because she has been a major influence in my life.

My mother was always a good role model for me as I was growing up. She's hard-working, patient and understanding; she's also got a goodsense of humour and seems to get on well with everybody. Hopefully I've inherited some of these traits.

I admire my mother because I think she brought me up well; she was quite strict but always fair, and she has always been someone I can turn to for advice. I think my mother set a good example by working hard and having a positive outlook on life. I remember that she used to leave for work early and come home quite late, but she always made time for me and my family.
