Discussing contract form

A: Good afternoon, Mr. Edwards. It's so nice to see you again. Come in, please sit down.

B: Good afternoon, Mr. Forester. I'm also very pleased to see you. How are you doing?

A: Not bad, thank you. And how are you?

B: Very good, thank you.

A: I'm glad to hear that. Have you studied our contract form, Mr. Edwards?

B: Yes, I have studied it. And before we get down to business, I should say, that your goods are undoubtedly of high quality. Our technical specialists drew the conclusion that they are up to world standards.

A: Yes, that is why they are in great demand on the world market.

B: I would like to discuss the commercial side of our deal and the first thing to clarify is the prices.

A: You don't find them attractive, do you?

B: Yes, actually, we are going to buy a rather big consignment. So could you find it possible to reduce the price?

A: Well, I don't thing we will agree to reduce the price, you know we are heavy with orders. But I think we could give a discount of 7 % on your purchase. Does it suit you?

B: Oh, that would be great, I think. But I must get in touch with my company. The next point to discuss is the terms of delivery.

A: Would you like to receive your purchase in parts?

B: Yes, if it is possible we would like to receive the first part after signing the contract, the second one at the end of the next month.

B: Oh, payment for collection suits us.

A: What about the other terms of the contract, do they suit you?

B: Yes, all the rest is OK.

A: Well, if your company agrees to these terms let's meet tomorrow at 11.30 and sign the contract.

B: I'll hope we'll make this bargain. See you tomorrow Mr. Forester.

A: See you tomorrow Mr. Edwards.

A: Good morning, Mr. Edwards. Nice to see you again!

A: Mr. Forester will be in a minute. Do you mind waiting for him in the conference room?

B: No, I don't mind a bit.

A: This way, please. Would you like something to drink?

B: Tea, please.

A: And no sugar, right?

B: Yes.

C: Oh, Mr. Edwards! Good morning! How are you doing?

B: Not bad thank you. And how are you, Mr. Forester?

C: Very well, thank you. Take a sit please, Mr. Edwards.

B: Thank you, Mr. Forester.

A: Would you like a cup of coffee, Mr. Forester?

C: Yes, please, Martin.

A: I'll ask Brenda to bring some.

C: Well, Mr. Edwards, did you get in touch with your company yesterday?

B: Yes, our lawyer has already studied the contract and now we agree to your terms.

C: Glad to hear that, Mr. Edwards. Let's make our bargain then.

B: With a great pleasure, Mr. Forester.

C: Martin, have you prepared the documents for us?

A: Yes, Mr. Forester, everything is ready.

C: Let's sign the contract then.

B: With pleasure.

A: You should put your signatures here. (Mr. Forester and Mr. Edwards are signing the contract)

C: Martin, will you ask Brenda to bring champagne, please.

A: Just a moment Mr. Forester.

C: I would like to propose a toast to our new business partner "Stone & Sons" and to Mr. Edwards personally. I wish you all the best and I hope we'll cooperate successfully in future. Cheers!

B: Yes, I'll drink to that. Cheers! And I would like to propose another toast. Thank you very much for bending over backwards to meet our interests. And it is always a pleasure for us to do business with your company.
