1. Поговорите с человеком другого культурного или этнического происхождения и обсудите с ним трудности, с которыми он или она сталкивается в США. Какие из этих проблем обусловлены культурными особенностями? Насколько эти трудности уникальны для данного человека? Представьте свои наблюдения аудитории. Какие общие выводы вы и ваши сокурсники могли бы сделать на основании этих результатов? Обсудите свои личные беседы с людьми другой культуры или национальности в свете представленного в данной главе материала.

2. Проанализируйте подходы к консультированию, предлагаемые в других странах. Как теории и методы, сформированные в иных культурах, отвечают потребностям людей в этих обществах? Насколько, по вашему мнению, подход к консультированию, который вы анализировали, подошел бы к условиям США?

3. Вместе с сокурсниками разыграйте в ролях следующую ситуацию. Вообразите, что вы достигли возраста 65 лет. Чем бы вы занимались в этом возрасте? Каковы ваши потребности и ожидания? Как консультант мог бы быть вам полезен? Отличается ли ваша гипотетическая точка зрения на жизнь в J этом возрасте от вашего современного взгляда на мир? Обсудите эти вопросы с учетом совета Понцо (Ponzo, 1978) – оставаться собой, не «обыгрывая» свой возраст.

4. Разделитесь на две группы по половому признаку. Предложите мужчинам принять традиционные женские роли и наоборот. Затем обсудите ситуацию принятия решений, связанных с карьерой и браком. Обсудите мнение обеих сторон и то, как могло бы измениться это мнение, если бы человек имел иную сексуальную ориентацию.

5. В группах по три человека обсудите, какое место занимают вопросы религии в консультировании. Поделитесь вашими соображениями с аудиторией.
