The constitution 1993 for the first time defined parliament as representative and legislative supreme body.

Parliament of the Russian Federation is the Federal Assembly, consisting of two houses (chambers): lower – the State Duma(450 deputies) and upper – the Council of Federation (166 members).

1993-1995 – 1 convocation,

1995-1999 – 2 convocation,

1999-2003 – 3 convocation,

2003-2007 – 4 convocation,

2007 - 2011 – 5 convocation.

2011-2016 - 6 convocation
