NIZHNY NOVGOROD COMMERCIAL INSTITUTE
Part I
The Nizhny Novgorod Commercial Institute (NNCI) was founded in 1993 when the Commercial College of Nizhny Novgorod was transformed to the Commercial Institute. The NNCI is the first of its kind institution of higher education in the Volgo-Vyatsky region. It is different to most academic establishments because it has cutting-edge equipment, advanced teaching technologies, a community atmosphere, and some big ideas.
The main building of the Institute is located in Lenin Avenue. It is a six-storied building of a modern construction. In the basement of the building there is a cloak-room where students leave their coats. There is also a fitness-room there. On the first floor there is a canteen. It is very popular with the students and the teaching staff of the Institute. The Accounting department, the International Relations department, and the Personnel department are also on the first floor. The Rector’s office is on the second floor. The assembly hall and the gym are on the fourth floor.
The students of the NNCI have a pleasant environment for study. The Institute provides them with well-equipped lecture halls and computer classes. There is a large reading-room in the Centre of Information Resources (CIR). Computer classes and a well-stocked Centre of Information Resources help students get the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge for the use in their future professional career.
