- No, that is gorgeous. And you look great in blue.

- But I like this red one too.

- Well, try both of them on.

- Is there size ten in blue?

- Yes, right here. The fitting rooms are around the corner, by the children’s department.

- I like the blue.

- And it’s comfortable too.

- Is it too short though?

- No. You look beautiful, really!

- Thanks. Excuse me, how much is this dress?

- You’re lucky. All women’s fashion are on sale today. Let’s see. This dress is twenty-five per cent off.

- I’m convinced. I even have shoes to match.

- That’s reason enough right there.

Shopping for food

- How about chicken for dinner tonight?

- Sounds good. Do you have the shopping list?

- No, I don’t.

- I don’t either. It’s probably at home on the kitchen counter.

- Great! Do you have any idea what we need?

- Well, the chicken and something to serve on the side.

- How about vegetables and rice?

- Fine. I’ll get some carrots and a package of rice.

- I think we’re out of milk. I’ll get some.

- Oh. And let’s get some eggs for tomorrow morning.

- You’re not supposed to eat so many eggs. It’s not good for you.

- Look who’s talking. With your usual diet of meat and potatoes, you’re a real health nut.

- Your total is $23.83.

- Here you go.

- Out of $ 30.00 $6.17 is your change.

- Oh, no!

- What?

- The chicken!

- A: I’m going to the library.

- B: Can you buy something for me at the newsagent's?

- A: But the newsagent's is a mile from the library.

- B: No. Not that newsagent's. Not the one that's next to the fish and chip shop. I mean the one that's near the butcher’s.

- A: Oh, yes. Well, what do you want?

- B: Some chocolate and a tin of sweets and an address book.

D

- Can I help you?

- Yes, please. I’m looking for a shirt to go with my new suit.

- Blue.

- What about this one? Do you like this?

- No, it isn’t the right blue.

- Well, what about this one? It’s a bit darker blue.

- Oh yes. I like that one much better. Can I try it on?

- Yes, of course. The changing rooms are over there. Is the size Ok?

- No, it’s a bit too big. Have you got a smaller size?

- That’s the last blue one we’ve got, I’m afraid. But we’ve got it in white.

- OK. I’ll take the white. How much is it?

- £39.99. How do you want to pay?

- Can I pay by credit card?

- Credit card’s fine. Thank you very much.
