I. Переведите предложения. Подчеркните сказуемые и определите их время и залог.

V. Закончите следующие предложения, употребляя глаголы в скобках в форме инфинитива или герундия.

VI. Переведите предложения, вставив подходящее по смыслу слово (exciting, adoring, coming, waiting,bearing). Подчеркните причастия: Present Participle (5) и Past Participle (5).

IX. Переведите указанные предложении из упражнения VIII, принимая во внимание многофункциональность глаголов to be, to have, to do (смысловой/вспомогательный/модальный/заменитель другого глагола/связка) и определите:

XI. Подчеркните в следующем тексте глаголы-сказуемые в форме страдательного залога и переведите его на русский язык.

STAMPS

1. In 1840, Rowland Hill's Penny Stamp became law.

2. Under this law, letters were paid for by weight.

3. Previously, they had been charged according to the distance or number of sheets.

4. It also became compulsory to pay for postage in advance.

5. This had not always been done before and often people had refused to pay for letters which had been delivered to them.

6. Stamps were introduced in 1840 as an easy way of checking that postage had been paid.

7. As Britain was the first country to use stamps widely, the country's name was notwritten on them.

8. However, the head of the ruling monarch appears on every stamp.
