They say there’s no bad weather, there are bad clothes. What do you think about it?

Now let’s talk about weather and climate. What is happening to weather and climate nowadays?

Before talking about weather and climate I think it’s necessary to learn the difference between these two things. So the simplest explanation of weather is that it is the condition of atmosphere at a definite time and place on the Earth. Weather can be hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy, sunny or rainy. Now some words about climate come. Well, climate is the meteorological weather conditions experienced in a certain location over a long period of time - may be 30 years or more. Climate can be mild or severe, marine or maritime, tropical or subtropical, continental, polar, arctic, arid, or semiarid. As we can see the climate is conditioned by the country’s position. Further I’d like to describe the climate of the country I live in and its weather in different seasons. It’s common knowledge Belarus has a temperate-continental climate with hot or warm summers, long cold winters and very distinct seasons. The annual average temperature is about 7 - 10 Degrees Calcium (centigrade). It’s necessary to stress that there are no significant differences between the districts of Belarus due to the small size of the country. That’s why it’s not difficult to describe Belarus weather. So Belarus weather in the spring and autumn is usually cool but the temperature is above zero and it can be damp and rainy. May in spring and September in autumn are generally pleasant with warm sunny days. Belarus winters are rather cold with heavy winds and snowfalls throughout the country from December to early March. Winter temperatures average - 4 to - 7 centigrade but temperatures as low as - 25 centigrade are not uncommon in winter months nowadays. However, in some years the winters are mild and temperatures can be even above zero. In summer Belarus usually has very nice, sunny and mild weather. Summer temperatures average 16 - 17˚C, but they have reached more than 30˚C lately. I can’t mentioning about the changing of climate and weather of the world nowadays. Such natural disasters as floods, hurricanes, heatwaves, thunderstorms, wildfires, drought, volcanoes, tornadoes and others have taken place in different countries and in different reasons much more often lately. It seems to me they are happened due to human activities and as a result of extreme weather phenomena including global warming the reason (evidence) of which is greenhouse effect and the rise of temperatures and heat. Unfortunately all these catastrophes lead to great damage of the countries’ economy and loss of people’s lives

Are you weather dependent?

Yes, I am. I am absolutely sure that a lot of people are weather dependent. As for me I enjoy sunny weather. When it’s sunny I am full of life, energy and beans. I feel enthusiastic, active, light and optimistic (happy, relaxed). But when it’s rainy I am dull, boring, and passive and feel unhappy, unlucky, sleepy and unwell. Elderly people feel some pain in their chests, they have headaches, heartaches and high blood pleasure when the weather is dull, windy and lamp.

What questions would you ask a meteorologist?

Oh, I can ask a lot of questions. For example:

1) Are you fond of your job? Do you like your job?

2) What knowledge is required to become a meteorologist?

3) Is it a high or low paid job?

4) What instruments are used in weather forecasting?

What can you advise a person who want to become a meteorologist?

Firstly, you should get acquainted with a meteorologist’s job by getting a lot of information visiting the local weather station, talking to a meteorologist and trying to write and present your own weather forecast. Secondly, you need to get specialized higher education.

They say there’s no bad weather, there are bad clothes. What do you think about it?

I agree with the proverb in general. People should put on their clothes according to the seasons and weather.
