ВСТУП
Збірник завдань з граматики англійської мови призначений
для самостійної роботи студентів заочної форми навчання всіх напрямів підготовки.
Метою видання є формування, розвиток та удосконалення умінь і навичок вживання граматичних форм та конструкцій.
Збірник складається з дев’яти розділів, що охоплюють розділи граматики, визначені програмою державного іспиту з іноземної мови. Кожний розділ складається з короткого теоретичного пояснення (переважно у формі таблиць) з великою кількістю прикладів, що особливо важливо під час самостійної роботи.
Дуже важливою частиною мови є дієслово, яке складає основу речення. Вживання деяких дієслівних форм викликає у студентів певні труднощі. Саме тому автори приділили особливу увагу цій частині мови. Дуже детально подано видо-часові форми вживання дієслів в активному та пасивному станах, порівняльні характеристики модальних дієслів, побудова умовних речень, різні типи питальних речень, складний додаток.
Збірник містить тренувальні вправи з різними видами завдань: заповнення пропусків, множинний вибір, переклад речень тощо. Після кожної опрацьованої теми надається тест для поточного контролю навичок вживання та перекладу англійською мовою граматичних конструкцій, явищ тощо.
Матеріал вправ базується на загальновживаній та економічній лексиці, що сприятиме не лише досконалішому оволодінню практичною граматикою, але й розвитку професійно орієнтованого спілкування.
Збірник також можна використовувати на аудиторних заняттях.

Present Simple
Вправа 1. (a) Прочитайте правила додавання закінчення –s до дієслів у третій особі однини:
1. Більшість дієслів у третій особі однини мають закінчення –s:
I work – he works we paint – she paints
2. Якщо основа закінчується на –ss, -s, -sh, -ch, -tch, -x, -o, додається закінчення –es.
I dress – she dresses we teach – he teaches
you go – he goes they wash – she washes
3. Якщо основа дієслова закінчується на –у з попереднім приголосним, -у змінюється на –і та додається закінчення –es.
I study – she studies they cry – he cries
(b) Додайте закінчення третьої особи однини теперішнього часу до таких дієслів.

Present Continuous
Вправа 1. (а) Прочитайте правила додавання закінчення –ing до дієслів.
1. Якщо дієслово закінчується на приголосну, додається закінчення -ing : to read – reading
to speak – speaking
2. Якщо дієслово закінчується однією приголосною буквою, якій передує короткий наголошений звук, то перед закінченням – ing кінцева приголосна подвоюється: to sit – sitting
to begin – beginning
to put – putting
3. Дієслова, що закінчуються на –ie, змінюють –і на –у-:
to die – dying
to lie – lying
4. Якщо дієслово закінчується німим –е, то перед закінченням воно опускається: to write – writing

Вправа 1. (a) Прочитайте правило та додайте закінчення –ed до дієслів:
a) до більшості дієслів, які закінчуються на приголосну, додається закінчення –ed:
work – worked, clean – cleaned
b) якщо дієслово закінчується буквою –е, то перед закінченням –ed вона не пишеться:
love – loved, decide - decided
c) якщо дієслово закінчується однією приголосною буквою, якій передує короткий наголошений голосний звук, то кінцева приголосна подвоюється:

d) якщо інфінітив закінчується на приголосний + -у, то перед закінченням –ed у змінюється на і:
