TRAVELLING
The majority of persons who travel from one country to another do so through land crossing points, even considering that many nations do not have land borders.
The land mode offers many advantages to the smugglers. It can provide great flexibility, allowing the smuggler to choose, where and when to cross a border. Vehicles have more potential areas for concealment than are available to a passenger disembarking from an aircraft with some baggage.
There are some drawbacks - source areas are generally very far from the major markets for their drug production: road / rail connections are often poor; there are limitations on the quantity of drug that can be shipped through by using commercial transport vehicles.
These factors combine in the overall world picture so that the land mode provides the highest frequency of seizures but the total quantity of the drugs seized is less than from the air or marine modes.

The continent of Australia is divided into four general topographic regions. Although Australia has a wide diversity of climatic conditions, the climate of Australiais generally warm and dry. It changes from comfortably mild in the South to hot in the centre and north.
The total population is about 16 mln. More than 99 percent of the population speaks English.
The capital of Australia is Canberra. Australia has a federal parliamentary government. The Australian constitution combines the traditions of British Parliamentary monarchy with important elements of the US federal system. The government consists of the British Sovereign and the Australian Parliament.
Australia is the world's largest wool producer and one of the world's largest wheat exporters. The main sources of foreign earnings are wool, food and minerals which also provide raw materials for home industry.
