Инфинитив в функции вводного члена предложения

Инфинитив в функции вводного члена всегда выде­ляется запятой или тире. Круг глаголов, употребляемых в этом случае, довольно ограничен.

Инфинитив в функции вводного члена можно пере­водить: 1) деепричастным оборотом; 2) неопределенной формой глагола с союзом если, после которого для связи с последующим предложением иногда вводятся допол­нительные слова заметши, следует сказать, что и др., или 3) самостоятельным предложением со сказуе­мым в повелительном наклонении или изъявительном 1-го л. мн. ч.:


1. То anticipate a little, these data prove that...
Забегая несколько вперед, заметим (следует сказать),

что эти данные доказывают, что...

Если забежать несколько вперед, следует сказать, что эти данные...

Забежим несколько вперед; эти данные доказывают, что...

2. Galileo, Newton, Huygens — to mention only the most
prominent men of science —
were the founders of classical
mechanics.

Инфинитив, стоящий после существительного или после местоимения в объектном падеже с предшеству-


ющим предлогом for, выражает действие, которое про­изводит предмет или лицо, обозначенное данным су­ществительным или местоимением.

Оборот "for + существительное + инфинитив" вы­полняет функции различных членов предложения (в научной литературе чаще всего функции обстоятельства цели или следствия).

Перевод оборота зависит от выполняемой им функ­ции, при этом предлог for опускается, а весь оборот — инфинитив с существительным (местоимением) с for — переводится придаточным предложением соответственно выполняемой данным оборотом функции. Инфинитив английского предложения соответствует глаголу в лич­ной форме, т. е. функции сказуемого русского перевода, а стоящее перед инфинитивом существительное — под­лежащему:

1. For a force to exist there must be two objects involved.
(Инфинитивный оборот стоит в начале предложения,

отвечает на вопрос для чего? и выполняет функцию обстоятельства цели (см. § 3)).

Для того чтобы существовала cilw, необходимо,

чтобы было два предмета.

2. The temperature was too low for the substance to
decompose.

(Инфинитивный оборот соотнесен с ранее стоящим наречием too и выполняет функцию обстоятельства следствия (см. § 3)).

Температура была слишком низка, для того чтобы

вещество разложилось (могло разложиться).

Температура была слишком низка, и разложения

вещества не произошло.

3. The tendency was for the gas to become ionized.
(Инфинитивный оборот стоит после глагола связки

be (см. § 5)).

Примечание. Инфинитив в страдательном залоге переводится действительным:
