The hotels which offer a higher standard of accommodation than inexpensive hotels are called 2-star hotels according to the European classification.
The facilities provided there are TV-sets in some bedrooms, bedside lights in the rooms and wake-up calls. Only 20 per cent of bedrooms contain a private bathroom or a shower with a lavatory.
The rooms are not air-conditioned which is a disadvantage for resort and beach hotels in hot countries.
There is a TV-set in the lounge. Guests are assisted with luggage.
A bar and a restaurant are not available in every moderate hotel. But guests may have hot morning tea or hot breakfast.
The moderate hotels are usually situated far from the centres of the cities. Transportation may not be very good.
These hotels have reasonable prices.
