The pupils can get deeper knowledge in different optional courses in different subjects and school offers these opportunities. They can deepen and improve their knowledge by attending different optional courses in different subjects. The result of the educative process is the capacity for further education. Nowadays the students of secondary schools have opportunities to continue their education by entering gymnasiums, lyceums, colleges. But the road to learning is not easy. There is no royal road to learning. To be successful in studies one must work hard. It's for you to decide to learn and make progress or not to learn lose your time. As you already know, I am a first-year student of the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogic Academy. Now, let me describe my usual working day. My classes begin at eight o'clock. So on weekdays I have to get up at half past six. My alarm clock usually wakes me up and my working day begins. I turn on the radio, do my morning exercises, take a shower and brush my teeth. After that I get dressed and comb my hair. Then I have breakfast. I love to listen to the latest news on the radio while I am eating. I leave the house at twenty minutes past seven and walk to the nearest bus stop. I live rather far from the Academy and it usually takes me about a quarter of an hour to get there by bus. Sometimes

when the weather is fine and I have enough time I walk to the Academy. As a rule we have three or four classes a day. We have lectures in different subjects. Usually I don't miss my classes because I want to pass my examinations successfully. But sometimes I do, especially when the weather is fine and the classes are boring. At a quarter past one we have a big interval for lunch. That's my favourite time. That is the time to share the latest news with my friends. I prefer not to go to the canteen and we often have lunch in a small cafe not too far from the Academy. At a quarter to two we have to be back to our classes. During the working day we also have several short intervals that last for ten minutes. From time to time I have to stay at the Academy till late in the evening because I go to the library to get ready for my practical classes or to write a report. As a rule I have no free time on weekdays. So, by the end of the week I get very tired. I come home at about 7 o'clock in the evening. My parents are already at home. We have supper together. After supper we wash dishes, drink coffee or tea and watch TV. I prefer old comedies and serials or films about traveling. Sometimes I go for a walk in the park or visit my friends. At about eleven at night I go to bed. I like to read something before going to bed or to listen to some music. Sometimes I fall asleep while I am reading. Ex. 2. education and good habits. There are different groups, where children can succeed in the field they are particularly interested in. Art clubs, Drama and history clubs and groups, studying foreign languages, are among them. Educational excursions can be also useful in developing the pupil's intellect. Nature hikes help to explore the world around us. To my mind if we want to be successful in our studies we must have the number of positive qualities of character. First of all we have to be attentive at the lessons. Attention always helps to acquire profound knowledge and to understand the material better. To make progress in all subjects we should be hard-working and persistent persons. Strong-willed and industrious people can stand up all difficulties and hardships and they have a purpose in life. So if we want to be well educated, we ought to have all these qualities in ourselves, only in these conditions we can succeed in our studies. I think that all people should be educated, because it is very useful and important. Educated persons are always ready to find a good job, they usually have a bright career. Besides, it is also much better to talk to educated, cultured and extraordinary person. I consider knowledge to be the really great power and that is why we must always increase it. form of recreation and the best source of enjoyment. For our big family of six (we have 4 children) it is out of the question to spend our holidays in hotels as it is far beyond our means. By camping we solve one of our financial problems. But besides that there are other advantages: we use our own car to travel and for Mr. Brown it is an idea of a perfect holiday. Cooking on the open fire is not a chore but a real pleasure for Mrs. Brown. Pitching tents, blowing up the air beds, preparing sleeping bags, unpacking cooking utensils and provision in a record time is an enjoyable challenge for our boys and girls. Fetching water and collecting brushwood for the camp fire is usually turned into a game or a competition and we are never bored as there are always so many things to do in the woods and at the river. Fishing and mushrooming are only two of the hobbies that we enjoy while we are camping." Sally,an English teacher: "For me the world is a classroom. When I travel, I can learn so much. A visit to an aquarium can introduce me and my students to a great variety of fish and other water animals, while a walk through a garden will help us to discover interesting and unusual plants. Hike in a national park and you will become acquainted with even more plants, trees and wildlife. Somewhere during your holiday, you will most likely notice a monument, perhaps a building or a statue cut of stone or marble honouring a person or event. Go into a museum and you will see important works in the areas of art, history or science.
