Note: Those entries with an asterisk (*) in front of the listing include Crowley's 'Notes on the Ritual of the Pentagram.' This ritual is not written by Aleister Crowley and the origin according to some scholars can be traced to The Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn. See The Golden Dawn by Israel Regardie, Volume I pg.106. This ritual has been published so often that we choose only a few sources for our listing. ... The In The Continuum (Vol.1 No.1 pg.1 1973) version of this ritual is often called the Thelemic Banishing Ritual because Crowley added in an affirmation to identify Aiwass with the heart center.' (also known as The Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram), including Crowley's 'Notes on the Ritual of the Pentagram'. Crowley has sternly stated that "Those who regard this ritual as a mere device to invoke or banish spirits, are unworthy to possess it. Properly understood, it is the Medicine of Metals and the Stone of the Wise."
