And further, in the island, — мои «подданные» live: beasts, animals, birds...

С какой стати shall I kill savages за людоедство? В самом деле, am I God? Ведь именно бог, взирая сверху на эти кровавые пиршества, permitted them все это, веками! God permitted them to eat друг друга. Hence, God had not and has not отвращения к этому. That was and is a God's will. Почему shall I go against the God? И я, indeed, refused this idea. И правильно сделал, because иначе savages убили бы меня. И вообще, hear ваш внутренний голос! Когда меня раздирали противоречивые чувства, то мой внутренний voice spoke me: «do not come to savages! Нравятся они тебе или нет, don't come to them!» Perhaps, God himself spoke these words, эти неожиданные, откуда-то взявшиеся фразы: «do not kill savages!, слушай и делай: don't kill them!» Я решил тогда, что that was the by God spoken words. It was good that these words were spoken вовремя. It is good, if something вовремя is spoken. А вот these words обо мне и о дикарях saved me. В таком запутанном деле, в такой непонятной, кошмарной обстановке I was saved своим внутренним голосом, the voice of God.

Меня охватило чувство горя. I could not know, who they were. But я хотел to save those men on the ship. I came there on the by me made boat и пытался найти there хоть кого-нибудь живого. However, on the wreck of ship оказалось only one alive being: a dog, who прыгнула in the sea и нацелилась to swim to me, но оказалась very weak от голода и я лишь с трудом подобрал, спас the swum being. Полазив по обломкам судна, я наткнулся лишь на two dead fellows of the seen ship.

THE FIRST MAN'S VOICE

The savages killed the first victim, но в это время the second brought man побежал и притом very fast. TWO MEN AGAINST SAVAGES

Мы оба уже are wanting завтракать, so, я прошу him to go to the seashore за черепахами, who are going now there в большом количестве. Suddenly I am seeing that Friday is running back с изменившимся лицом, что-то крича. «Why are you running so fast?» I am asking. «О Master! О bad!» — кричит он. «One, two, three boats!» «Answer!» I am saying, «What have you seen?» Он успокоился и рассказал, что savages boats have come.

THE SECOND WAR

One morning I was awaked, when Friday had run to me but had not asked разрешения войти and called me, «Master», they have come!» Кто пришел? Кого он имеет ввиду? Have our fellows returned? У меня не было привычки выходить из «дома» без оружия, но здесь я так разволновался, что I jumped as soon as I could and though I had not been washed and dressed, I went, without gun, to the hill top. Я быстро осмотрелся и I had been surprised at once, ведь я увидел a boat, at about eight kilometres, which came правда, from southern end of the island, where our boat had been sent two monthes ago, but it was not the same boat and these were not the people we looked for.

There was no less than ten men in her, ten armed men. As soon as they came to the place where their other boat lay, they ran all on shore and then they brought their boat near the shore, which I was glad to see. The first thing they did, they ran all to their other boat. And it was easy to see that they were most surprised that they had not anyone found. Then they decided to go all on board again, to their ship.

Indeed, the forest is not known them and they, perhaps, will lose the way. The farther into the forest, the worse.

I waited while не стало темно and I decided to make a last attack. But I have been worried and the long time have thought, "Shall we be shot and fought by them? Or will they have been confounded, frightened and descouraged so that they will not fight against us?»

One of my men called as loud as he could to one of «thieves», «Тот Smith!» Tom Smith answered just now, «Who is that? Robinson Alan?» For he knew this voice. Then Alan said, «Тот Smith, for God's sake, put your arms! Surrender! Or you, certainly, are all dead men!» «Whom must we surrender? Where are they?», asked Smith again. «Неге they are. Here now our captain is and fifty men with him, have been hunting you this two hours, and if you do not surrender, you are all lost».
	In a word, they all put down their arms and saved their lives.

VICTORY

It was plainly that, так как нет связи берега с судном, men on the ship will not have been frightened, worried or troubled before we shall come to the ship.
дело – [bzns] короткий – [:t]	I did not think it was right for us to go with seamen of the ship. Indeed, they had made their business very well, in the shortest time.

As soon as they had come, the captain said to Alan to call them and to tell them they had brought the men and the boat and they should rise and go on the board. The captain and the mate, coming first with their arms, struck главных зачинщиков мятежа, killed them. Then they with men took the rest «thieves».

At once, the captain ordered the mate to come в капитанскую каюту. The captain should not stay, see, wait and leave «thieves» free and alive. They had come into the room, where the new captain lay, and shot him through the head. The bullet, coming at his mouth, came out again behind one of his ears so that he never spoke a word. Then the ship was taken fully, without any more lives lost.

Showing to the ship, he came to me and embraced me. «My best friend», he said, «there is your ship, for she is all yours, and so are we all». Indeed, the ship lay in a kilometre of the shore, near the place, where I had first landed. Suddenly, I understood that I might not answer him one word, I might not stand, I might not say. Falling, I got in his hands.

I told him that leaving them upon the island is my opinion. Holding them here would be the best word of Governor. «I should be very glad of that», the captain said.

I told prisoners the captain and I have to lead them to England and there they will be hung. However, I have decided to go with my men to England and to leave them here alone.
	They were very glad for it, they would better stay here than to return to fatherland and to be hung. Hence, I left it so.
	Suddenly, the captain began loud to speak against it. Upon it I showed my little anger and told him that they were my prisoners, not his. So I gave them freedom and the whole island.
	Having done all this, I left them the next day and went on board of the ship. The weather was very good and we began to sail. Before that I had taken my goatskin clothes and one of my parrots, my honest fellow, who was glad to hear me and to speak with me and whom I was always glad to see and to hear. He was one of my younger true friends lived with me twenty-and-eight years, two months and nineteen days on this island, Island of Despair and now, I may say, Island of Joy.
