3377(P)/99 IRELAND, East Coast – River Boyne – Tom Roe’s Point – Harbour

Developments

1. Works are in progress to construct a quay on the north shore and sea wall of the River Boyne

estuary at the new port facility, Tom Roe’s Point, in position 53º 43'·25N., 6º 18 '·00W.

2. Construction work will include a 70 metre quay, a 150 metre dredged area alongside the quay, extending 40 metres East and West of the extremities of the quay end returns, foreshore protection work, ancillary construction work and floating survey work.

3. During construction floating plant will be moored alongside the jetty construction area.

4. The East and West extremities of the jetty construction area will be illuminated by two lights, 2 F.G(vert).

5. The duration of the works is expected to be six months.

6. Vessel passing the construction area are requested to reduce their speed to minimum consistent with safe navigation.

3381(T)/99 AUSTRALIA – Victoria – Works

Mariners are advised that work on the extension of the Ship Impact Protection Wall (37º 49'·75S., 144º 53 '·85E approx) has commenced. Parts of the construction works will be carried out from the barges and work boats anchored along the eastern side of the bund. It is envisaged this work may extend up to 10m into the shipping channel. No night time work is expected. Craft will be moored outside the shipping channel during hours of darkness, and will display appropriate shapes and lights or low intensity flashing lights.

3385(T)/99 NEW ZEALAND – North Island – Navigational information

(A) Navigational Aids

1. The northern leading light-beacon, Fl.(2) 4s., (36º 49'·4S., 174º 50 '·50E.) is operating under reduced power, may not be visible during conditions of restricted visibility and should be used with caution.

2. Tipau Point starboard hand Outer Beacon, (36º 42'·65S., 174º 45 '·80E.) has been destroyed and replaced temporarily with an unlit green starboard hand conical buoy.

 

3. Hobson Bay Foul Ground port hand beacon, (36º 50'·78S., 174º 47 '·95E.) has been destroyed.

 

 

(B) Navigational Dangers.

1. The wavescreen to the north of the mooring areas at Hobson/Okahu Bays (36º 50'·85S., 174º 48 '·5E.) is dangerous. Craft are not to secure to the structure and are to keep well clear pending repair works.

2. Former Notice 3092(T)/99 is cancelled.
