Control and regulation of oscilloscope
Oscilloscope allows you to explore harmonic, pulse signals and signals of another form, amplitude and time parameters which may vary in a wide range. To establish the optimal conditions of observation of periodic sequences, or specific impulse, or sprawling leading edge pulse there is controls and regulation, placed on the front of the oscilloscope. They are located in six sectors (fig.1.2):
1 - in the upper right corner there is a screen CRT with scale, on two sides of it there is three handle to set the necessary brightness, focus and eliminate astigmatism separately for each beam CRT. Fourth top handle (right from screen) provides regulation of scale lighting. Handles with mark “«” are used to smooth and rough move of oscillograms horizontally;
2 - scan sector - combines controls that provide the necessary duration of scanning CRTs. For example, to study pulse duration of 10 ms sweep duration should be 15 - 20 microseconds. This will ensure the oscillograms almost the entire area of the screen CRTs. To install the required length of scan there is used three controls toggle "x 1 - x 0.2", large handle switch “hour/ed” for the discrete duration of a set, a small hadle on the line switch for smooth adjustment of the length of the observ ation of the scanning pulse shape without measurement duration. It should be noted that by measuring the time intervals should handle should be in the right position (clockwise). Only under such conditions can take into account the time scale scale division, which handles large arrow indicates the switch (eg, 0,5 ms / pallet);
3 - calibrator controls are used in the planned check of devices;
4 - amplifier sector of first oscilloscope channel VI combines: coaxial jack "Input" (1 MOhm, 40 RF), toggle " 
","-" selection of closed (through the condenser) or open input for measuring and indicating as variable, so and constant component of voltage; large handle V / under for the discrete switching of attenuator; little handle on the axis for smooth gain control; the handle marked " 
" to move oscillograms vertically;
5 - amplifier sector of second oscilloscope channel VII. Regulation and control are identical to corresponding sector handles;
6 - in sector "Synchronization" there is a large handle switch of type synchronization ("Outside," "Inside" or “Internal” , “External”); small handle is on the axis of the kind of synchronization switch "Level" to select the level of start scanning; handle "Stab" to select scan mode of generator (auto oscillating or standby); sockets 1:1 and 1:10 for supplying of external synchronizing pulses without dilution and weakening of 10 times; toggle " 
","-" for installation of closed or open input of synchronization; toggle" +", "-" to select the polarity of synchropulses.
During the laboratory work proceeding there is used mode of external scan start of oscilloscope by generator synchropulses H5-54.
