Here it is: it's called the Green School. I know it doesn't look like a school, but it is something we decided to do, and it is extremely, extremely ______. The classrooms have no ______. Методические принципы построения учебного пособия определялись конкретными задачами, вытекающими из его основной цели – подготовить студентов к применению английского языка в профессиональной сфере. Представленная система упражнений направлена на работу над всеми видами речевой деятельности (чтение, письмо, аудирование, говорение) в объеме современных требований учебных программ по иностранному языку для неязыковых вузов. Учебное пособие в основном ориентировано на студентов, обучающихся на бакалавров по направлению «Строительство», но также может быть использовано и с магистрантами.

Основной акцент в пособии сделан на развитие навыков чтения современных аутентичных текстов по строительству. В соответствии с поставленными целями, практические упражнения построены таким образом, чтобы научить студентов самостоятельно работать с иностранным текстом, как в аудиторное время, так и в случае отсутствия учащегося на занятии; извлекать заключенную в тексте информацию с дальнейшим применением ее на практике (от упражнения к упражнению), с детализацией и закреплением. С этой целью применяются упражнения, способствующие развитию умения выделять основные положения и факты; упражнения, ориентированные на конкретизацию основной информации, тематические обобщения.

Большое внимание уделяется работе с терминологией, поскольку без знания лексики по специальности общение на английском языке при решении профессиональных задач будет невозможным. Так, в данном пособии представлены лексические упражнения, развивающие языковую догадку и задания, требующие создания собственных монологических и диалогических сообщений. Разнообразные деловые игры, которые имитируют ситуации, возникающие в профессиональной деятельности инженеров-строителей, мотивируют студентов к изучению дисциплины и обучают решению профессиональных задач на английском языке.

Умение применять английский язык в профессиональной деятельности выявляет необходимость владения навыком восприятия текстов соответствующего содержания на слух. В данном пособии представлены аутентичные видеоматериалы, способствующие развитию навыка аудирования. В процессе работы с материалом, студенту предлагается три набора заданий: 1) перед аудированием; 2) во время аудирования; 3) после аудирования. Так, например, перед прослушиванием обучающийся знакомится с ключевыми словами, которые встретятся в видеофрагменте, во время просмотра отвечает на вопросы или нумерует ключевые идеи в порядке следования, после прослушивания закрепляет материал при помощи упражнений на развитие устной речи.

По окончании данного курса студент знает специфику терминологии в рамках направления «Строительство», правила перевода текстов по специальности, имеет навыки представления своего проекта, общения по вопросам проектирования зданий, выбора материалов, развития современных строительных технологий и техники безопасности на строительной площадке. Учебное пособие готовит специалистов, способных выступать на международных конференциях на английском языке и заводить контакты с иностранными партнерами.
